What JoinerKit's warnings mean, and how Auto fix puts them right

Updated 30 October 2026

JoinerKit checks the job as you draw it. Anything that can't be built, or that you should look at before you cut, is listed, with a button to the place to put it right.

Step by step

  1. Find the list

The Cutting & cost tab shows how many things there are to check, and lists them under the totals. The unit's own panel lists its own at the top, and the job's card on the Jobs list says how many there are.

  2. Go to the place

Press a warning's words to go where it's put right: the unit's section, a price in Materials, or a setting.

  3. Or press Auto fix

A red error has an Auto fix button beside it. It changes the job so it can be built, and says exactly what it did.

  4. Undo if it's not what you wanted

Press Undo on the message that appears, or the Undo button, and the job is back as it was.

Red errors: can't be built as drawn

  • A part bigger than a sheet: Auto fix uses a bigger sheet of the same board if Materials has one, makes the unit a little smaller if it's only just over, or splits it into units side by side or with a top box, each with its own inside and doors.
  • Doors or drawers too small: Auto fix takes them off, or makes fewer drawers so each fits.
  • A unit too shallow for its drawers: Auto fix makes it deep enough for your shortest runner.
  • A shape that can't be built: Auto fix puts it back to a plain box.

Where only Materials or Settings can put it right (no sheet at all, or no runner lengths), the error takes you there instead.

Amber warnings: things to check

  • Prices missing: Set prices opens Materials at the items with no price. Until they're priced, the total is marked as incomplete.
  • Things worth a look: a unit in a gap left for scribing, a unit going up through a sloping ceiling, a bunk bed that hasn't been checked against the safety standard.

Questions

Does Auto fix change anything without asking?

No. It only changes the job when you press it, it tells you what it did, and Undo puts it back.

Is Auto fix part of Pro?

No. It's in Free and Pro.
